French Enamel Pitcher

A classic French enamel pitcher of the type widely produced in France from the late 19th century through the early 20th century, used in bedrooms and washrooms for pouring water into a basin. This French enamel pitcher displays the elongated, tapering conical form typical of the genre, with a wide flared base narrowing sharply toward the neck before opening into a broad pouring spout.

The body is coated in white enamel over a pressed steel core, with a dark navy blue rolled rim edge that is characteristic of French production from this period. The handle is a simple curved loop, also white-enameled, attached at the neck and mid-body. The enamel surface retains good overall coverage, with visible age-related wear including rust spotting at the neck collar junction, light chipping along the base rim, and a small rust hole at the front neck seam where the spout meets the collar ring.
